The Cake Cafe

There is a small hole-in-the-wall in Dublin called the Cake Cafe. You must cross the bridges and go downtown, near the Bleeding Horse. You enter through a fabric store and cross to a small courtyard in the back. This courtyard is home to the outdoor dining of the smallest yet more deliciously amazing little eatery in all of the world.

It was one of my goals, in Dublin, to go there. There are, to my knowledge, three works. The owner, her husband, and a waiter who, when I was there, wore bright pink pants. None of the dinnerware matches - it is all various patterns of china. They deliver via bike. I was very much in love with them.

I went there with Sarah. We ordered "Afternoon Tea". They bring a pot of tea for two and a tower of assorted cakes and cookies. It was the most delicious meal I have ever had.

And the most photogenic.

The Best Tea

Perhaps I will find pictures of the gingerbread man - they had them in the middle of summer! Best idea ever! - and add them here.

Everyone should have afternoon tea. I don't understand why we don't.
